Modi attacks Cong's 'feudal mindset', says Indira held her nose in Gujarat

Morbi (Gujarat), Nov 29 (Agencies): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday attacked the Congress Party's 'feudal mindset' yet again, by bringing up a decades-old visit of former prime minister Indira Gandhi to Gujarat's Morbi.

"When Indira Ben came to Morbi, I remember there was a photo of her in the Chitralekha Magazine with a hanky over her nose due to the foul smells, but for Jansangh/Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) the streets of Morbi are fragrant; its the fragrance of humanity," Prime Minister Modi said, while addressing a rally here.

The prime minister's latest salvo adds to a string of accusations against Congress' dynastic politics and elitism, a point that the BJP has continually attacked and pitted against PM Modi's beginnings as a tea vendor.

The prime minister further alleged that the work of Congress while in power was mere pretentiousness.

"For Congress, 'development' was giving hand pumps. For the BJP, it is the SAUNI Yojana and large pipelines that carry Narmada waters," he said.

Addressing a rally in Rajkot recently, Prime Minister Modi had taken a similar dig at Congress for making a reference to his beginning as a tea vendor in a picture tweeted by their "volunteer" group last week.

At the rally, he praised his party's work, and said the developmental works by the BJP government in Gujarat were taken up with the motive to serve citizens and not to win polls.

Attacking Congress vicepresident Rahul Gandhi for calling GST 'Gabbar Singh Tax', Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that those who looted the country could only think of dacoits.

Gandhi had earlier dubbed the Goods and Services Tax 'Gabbar Singh Tax', recalling the iconic villain in the Bollywood blockbuster "Sholay".

Modi also accused the Congress of taking credit and political mileage over minor schemes, like providing hand-pumps, while saying that the BJP rule brought major projects like the Narmada project for the benefit of the people.

"Those who have looted the country can only think of dacoits," he said addressing a rally at Morbi in Saurashtra, which votes in the first phase of state Assembly elections on December 9.

Modi had on Monday pushed the BJP's campaign in Gujarat into high gear by addressing four back-to-back rallies.

Prime Minister Modi is expected to attend at least 20 public meetings and rallies in the next 15 days ahead of the assembly polls to be held on December 9 and 14.

Gujarat has a total number of 182 assembly seats and the polling will be held in two phases. Voting in 89 constituencies of Saurashtra and South Gujarat region will be held in the first phase while the remaining 93 constituencies in central and northern regions will be held in the second phase. The votes will be counted on December 18.

The Congress is eyeing to dethrone the BJP government in the state. The last Congress government in Gujarat was led by Chhabildas Mehta from February 17, 1994 to March 13, 1995.

Shakti Kapoor Saying 'Aaoo Lolita' and PM Modi's 'Congress' is never ending.
Yesterday Narendra Modi misleading people of Gujarat regarding Jawaharlal Nehru's contribution, has said that the country's first prime minister has not done anything for Gujarat. It is wrong and far from truth.
Several projects initiated by Nehru in Gujarat like Amul cooperative movement, IIM Ahmedabad, National Institute of Design, formation of Gandhinagar, the state's capital, ONGC's complex at Ankleshwar and development of ports like Kandla and Dahej, besides setting up of airports.

Today he is targeting former PM Indira Gandhi who has lost her life for this nation. He is stooping so low all for the sake of vote bank doesn't go well with person holding such high caliber post. He need to talk more sensible rather than cheap talks and concentrate more on development and corruption free India.

During Indira's time Pak had no nuclear bomb, but I heard they have few now.
Our soldiers are brave but nobody wants to commit suicide... Isn't it..

For example, few years back US had good chance of winning war with north Korea and merging it with south Korea.
    But now equations totally changed.

I hope you got the point...

Or in other words it implies that current government is yielding to Pakistan's nuclear blackmail! If the surgical strikes were true, why Pak didn't go for nuclear option in retaliation? The truth is nuclear option is suicidal for any country. Therefore Pakistan's nuclear capability now which was not there in 1971 is a lame excuse of.........

Indira Gandhi was assassinated almost 33 years back. She sacrificed her life for the Nation, Still it is haunting Modiji. She is the one, under her leadership, broke Pakistan into two in 1971 war and saved from the terrorist activity of Pakistan from Easter side of India. India won that war. Today Eastern Pakistan is free and it is called Bangladesh.

Today Modiji exposed his real sick mentality.

BJP has been in power in Gujarat for 22 years.
Normally there has to be a huge anti-incumbency factor.
This election should have been the easiest for the Congress to win.
If the Congress doesn't win Gujarat, it's time the supporters of Congress think about the leadership they are having presently, unless they want to remain slaves to one family.

Taking a leaf out of Trump and lying. Nothing to show otherwise for 22 wasted years. Posting fake images of the cities in the west and claiming them to be from Gujarat. Thinks that all the people of Gujarat are stupid like the fanatical bhakts. Blames Rahul for meeting with the Chinese envoy, instead of thanking him for cleaning up the mess he himself created. Was he not the one who invited the Chinese Leader to Gujarat and held a circus there. What happened to all those hugs and why did the Chinese come to Doklam after the Dokla meeting in Gujarat?
