Mangalore, Jul 4: Sadashiv Achar (47) working in Karkala branch office of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) died when an autorickshaw carrying himself and two others overturned at Bhatrakody near Kinnigoly on the night of Thursday July 3.
It is learnt, that the autorickshaw in question was moving at great speed, and the driver, alarmed at citing a motor bike coming from the opposite direction while overtaking a vehicle, applied brakes suddenly.
Achar had earlier worked at Udupi and Mulki branches of LIC. He was returning to his home near Mudarangadi after visiting his mother-in-law living near Haleangadi. The other two passengers sustained minor injuries and are being treated.
