Mangalore, Jul 2: A C Mahajan has taken over charge as the chairman and managing director(CMD) of public sector Canara Bank from outgoing CMD M B N Rao, on Tuesday, July 1.
Prior to this appointment, Mahajan, who has 36 years of service in the banking field under his belt, was functioning as the chairman and managing director of Allahabad Bank.
Mahajan has a rich experience in the field of financial management, having been a member of the IBA Management Committee, governing councils of Indian Banking and Finance Assoiation and Indian Institute of Bank Management.
