Udupi: Journalists’ Associations Mark Press Day in Unique Manner

Udupi, Jul 1: Karnataka Journalists’ forum’s Udupi district unit celebrated Press Day in a unique way by honouring veteran journalist Ambatanaya Mudrady, at his home in Mudrady, a tiny village near Hebri.

Gopal  Bhandary, Karkala MLA ,honoured Mudrady and appreciated his contribution.
Bhandary pointed out that all of us have the responsibility of promoting society, but the media had a greater responsibility than others.



Dhananjaya Moodbidre, former president of Moodbidri working journalists’ union, Bhaskar Rao Pethri, president of Karkala working journalists’ union, Rajeeva Shetty, K Balachandra Hebbar, and Krishnakumar, were also present on the occasion. Shekar Ajekar , president of the district unit, presided over the ceremony.

Meanhwile, Moodbidri working journalists’ association honoured K J Shetty and Sadanada Hegadekatte to commemorate the day. K Abhayachandra, MLA of Moodbidri, did the felicitation. Prasanna Hegde, president of the Moodbidri association, presided over the function while Bhuvanabhirama Udupa, the editor of ‘Yugapurusha’ magazine inaugurated the function. Dhananjaya Moodbidre, Naveen Salian, Dhanajaya Kumble, Ganesh Kamath, and Ashraf Valpady, were present.
