Mangalore: Emiliana D'Costa 'Stella Bai' of Cordel Dies in Accident

Mangalore, Jun 26: In a tragic road accident that took place at Kalpane near Kulshekar here, Emiliana D'Costa (74), fondly known as 'Stella Bai', wife of the late Leo D'Costa was killed on the spot on Thursday June 26 morning.

She had gone to Infant Jesus Shrine at Bikarnakatta for mass at 7.30 am on Thursday. After the mass, she was on her way back home on an autorickshaw along with her neighbour Felcy D'Silva when accident took place at Kalpane, a few metres away from her house.

The rickshaw in which Stella Bai and Felcy were travelling was hit by another speeding rickshaw at Kalpane. As a result the former was thrown on the road. Before she could recover, even the latter fell on them. Meanwhile the auto they were travelling turned turtle and fell over them, crushing Stella Bai to death on the spot.  Felcy D'Silva who sustained minor injuries has now been admitted to City Hospital.

Kadri police have registered a case in this regard.
