Plants are important sources of medicines. But Unless the toxicology studies in animals is conducted and then a clinical trial, one cannot rule out that they are completely safe. Many herbs can cause serious side effects - it is encouraging to note that this herb has blood sugar lowering effect . Lets go to the next step. let the medical schools in Mangalore conduct studies on this and let then then proceed to randomized clinical trial if it is found to be safe. Till then lets be very cautious in using it!
