Kundapur: 20 Students Injured in Bus-Truck Collision

Kundapur, Jun 25: A truck hit a school bus near the  Trasi beach on the national highway 17 near here on the morning of Tuesday, June 24, injuring 20 children. The school bus was carrying children to Gangolly English Medium School from various villages, when the accident occured.

The police said, that the accident occured when the lorry carrying iron ore, overtook the school bus and then came to a sudden halt in front of the moving bus.  Ten students with serious injuries from Kirimanjeshwar, Navunda and Badakere villages were admitted into a private hospital in Kundapur, while others with minor injuries were given first aid.. Truck driver Ravikumar Shetty fled from the scene.

Gangolly police have registerd a case.
