Puttur: Strict AC Vasantkumar 'Rewarded' with Transfer

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Jun 18: Finally BJP state president D V Sadanand Gowda has fulfilled one of his party's pre-poll promises. As rumours had earlier stated that DVS had said that he would transfer AC Vasantkumar if BJP voted back to power, the latter has formally been transferred. Assistant commissioner(AC) Vasantkumar has been transferred and Harishkumar of Bhatkal has been posted in his place.

Vasantkumar was known for strict implementation of rules and regulations in Puttur sub-division. Sources attribute his untimely transfer to the frictions he had with the BJP state president and MP Sadanand Gowda on certain issues.

Vasantkumar had also served as the administrator of Puttur municipality for a few months. He had taken the bold initiative of demolishing illegal structures in the town that had been impeding the road expansion work, during his tenure as administrator. He was successful in demolishing almost all the illegal structures, inspite of heavy pressure brought about by the politicians against the move. This operation was well appreciated by the citizens of Puttur town. On the other hand, he had to face strong opposition from the local traders and businessmen.

Later he carried out operations in Uppinangadi and Kadaba to demolish illegal buildings. He had some misunderstanding with D V Sadananda Gowda in connection with the proposed mini Vidhanasowdha and Gowda had warned Vasantkumar of reverting him from his post after the assembly elections. Gowda has kept his word by transferring Vasantkumar now, sources feel.

Where are the appreciative citizens of Puttur now? Why dont they join together and fight for reinstating AS Vasantakumar? wake up! Puturians and fight this system! work out a statergy look into options. what about the posibility of using the RTI act? It's a pity to note that the people of Dakshina Karnataka are still lagging behind in the use of this powerful weapon to fight for our rights, statistics show that the North Indians are the most using this act to put things in order. This nonsense should be stopped. My best wishes to Putturians and AS Vasantakumar may you have all the courage to fight for your rights.

Is the BJP govt. determined to implement law and order in the state? AC Vasantkumar was a strict and honest indeed. He tried to bring order and discipline in Puttur and also in the neighbourhood. Is it just and lawful to transfer him for the reason that he did not bow before any influences? He should have received the support of the politicians who claim to maintain law and oder. It reminds me of the beheading of St. John the Baptist. Should a righteous person die or get transferred just because someone else wants to fulfill his promise?

It is not right. About mini Vidhana Soudha he is not even obeyed the District Commissioner. It is right he is transferred.

This shows how good are political parties in India. They dont allow honest officials to work and they also dont work. People are also stupid, they dont even realise.
