Mangalore: S P Chengappa Elected President of Bar Association

Mangalore, Jun 18: S P Changappa has been elected as the president of Mangalore Bar Association. In the election held recently, he defeated other aspirants, K Shambhu Sharma and Felix Cardoza. Chengappa will be the president of the association for two years till 2010.

Chengappa happens to the working president of Dakshina Kannada District Samajwadi Party, honorary president of DK District Bus Workers' Association and member of Mangalore University Mass Contact Coordination Committee. He had also worked as member of Mangalore University syndicate and senate earlier. He had served the association in the capacity of general secretary and treasurer in the past.

Eshwar N Kottary was elected as the general secretary of the Bar Association, defeating Muzaffar Ahmed.
