M'lore: Ex Karnataka Bank Chairman H M Rama Rao No More

Mangalore, Jun 18: H M Rama Rao(79), who as chairman of Karnataka Bank Ltd., made the Bank reach several milestones, breathed his last at his residence in Hosabettu near here on Tuesday, June 17.

After joining Karnataka Bank in the year 1950, Rao had discharged duties at various positions of responsibility, before being elevated to the post of the chairman of the bank. After retirement, he settled down at his house at Hosabettu in Suratkal.

He is survived by a son and a daughter.

Karnataka Bank ex-chairman M S Krishna Bhat, present chairman Anantakrishna and senior officials of the bank have condoled the death of Rao.
