Kundapur: LPG Tanker Overturns near Arate Injuring Two

Kundpaur, Jun 17: A bullet tanker containing liquefied petroleum gas going towards Hubli from Mangalore swerved to the right while moving on the highway at Arate Near here and rolled down a 35-feet deep gorge by the side of the highway. The tanker was trying to overtake a truck.

The front portion of the vehicle was mangled in the accident, and its driver Senthil Kumar(35) who sustained head injuries, is being treated at a private hospital here. A person named Mohammed Saheb(40) who was coming in his scooty from the opposite direction got hit by the erratic truck. He was shifted to Manipal for advanced treatment after providing first aid here in a city hospital

Fire brigade was called in, to face the eventuality of problems expected to be created from leaking gas. However, no gas leak has been observed so far. A case has been registered at Gangolly police station.
