Bantwal: Overloaded Ore Trucks Banned on Mysore Road

Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Jun 16: Heavily loaded iron ore trucks, which were moving on the Shiradi Ghat road since the last few days, have taken to the Madikeri-Bantwal route, as the Shiradhi Ghat road is under repairs. This has caused heavy damage to the Mysore-Bantwal state highway at places like Kushalnagar, Sampaje, Madikeri and Suntikoppa.

Taking into account demands received from people and various organizations including the Chamber of Commerce, the Kodagu district deputy commissioner K R Niranjan, through an order, has banned movement of overloaded vehicles from plying on Mysore-Bantwal state highway from immediate effect. He has also asked the police and transport authorities to take action against those trucks which violate this order.
