Puttur: KSRTC Bus Falls into Gorge, one injured

Puttur, Jun 16: A KSRTC bus that was bound for Bangalore from Mangalore, fell into a gorge by the side of the national highway 48 in Uppinangadimath near here on Saturday. A passenger named Mahabaleshwar from Mangalore was injured in the shoulder, and admitted into a Mangalore hospital.

The bus fell into the gorge sideways, when the driver moved the bus to the edge of the road to avoid colliding with an oncoming vehicle, it is learnt. The 25 passengers of the bus had a providential escape as a tree stopped the fall of their bus midway. A case has been registered withUppinangady police station in this regard.
