Mangalore: Excise Raid - 35 Litres of Hooch Confiscated

Mangalore, Jun 14: In a surprise raid on a gang selling spurious liquor on Thursday June 12, the excise police confiscated 35 litres of hooch and fermented brew valued at about Rs 10,000.

Accused Jeevan D'Souza and Navin D'Souza, however, could not be apprehended as they jumped into Gurpur river and escaped.

The raid was led by excise enforcement squad superintendent J Papaiah. The case has since been handed over to the Bajpe police.
