Puttur: Three Doctors of Government Hospital Suspended

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (MSP)

Puttur, May 31: Three doctors working in Puttur government hospital, facing allegations of neglecting patients and indulging in fights have been suspended. On-duty medical officer of the hospital Dr Pradip, Dr Kishore Mayya and Dr Radhakrishna are the three doctors who have faced the wrath of the higher officials.

The in-patients of the hospital and others had to go through untold miseries on April 30 and May 1, after water supply to the hospital was stopped. Based on complaints, assistant commissioner Vasant Kumar and tahsildar Venkateshaiah paid a surprise visit to the hospital to look into the matter, and realised that there were internal squabbles between the medical officers. During their visit, not only the in-patients, but also many other members of the public spelt out long list of their grievances against the threesome.

The three doctors have been suspended, without being replaced so far. This has posed further problems to the hospital which is already suffering from a dearth of doctors.
