Bangalore, May 30: Senior Congress leader S M Krishna has blamed party leadership for the debacle in Karnataka Assembly polls, saying not allowing him to contest the poll and lead from the front was a "grave blunder".

"My not contesting was a crucial mistake. I would have led from the front and the situation would have changed," he said, adding not allowing him to lead from the front was a "grave blunder".

Asked whether it was his personal decision not to contest in the election, the former chief minister, who quit as Maharashtra Governor to return to active politics in

Karnataka ahead of the poll, told Outlook magazine that "it was worked out that way or it was agreed that I should stay away from the fray".

"Yes, there is a huge feeling among party workers that had they (party leadership) declared me as the chief ministerial candidate, the party would have performed better," Krishna said

Congress must be dismantled to save our nation. This dynastic empire party must be dismantled, so that true democracy find ways to develop. Now, only BJP is the true democratic party, where anyone can become leaders by hard work and from any parts of Bharat, that is India. Youths of Bharat must awake and start working to become leaders and rulers. We don't need surname tag holders or Turks, Chinese of Italian to rule us. Join, support and vote BJP.

The staement of SM Krishna is a joke ! If he thinks that he is sole representative of the party who enjoys the public trust, he is mistaken. He should retire from politics and start distributing his illgotten wealth to the poor.

Congress party workers better find a new party to join soon, as this party has lost almost 80% of elections last 4 years and party slowly becoming extinct which is good for India. After 2009 congress will be reduced to minority every where and thats what they deserve. Good leaders like Krishna should join BJP soon.
