Mangalore, May 21:
The Election Commission has issued notice to the Mangalore Special Economic Zone Limited (MSEZL) for violating election code of conduct by laying foundation stone for a temple at Bhatrakere in Permude village.

But MSEZL CEO A G Pai, who himself participated in the programme, has denied the allegation in his reply to the Election Commission's notice.

The MSEZL was planning to relocate temples situated in the land acquired for SEZ first phase, which include Mukkodi Shri Vyaghra Chamundi Temple, Paraleguthu Shri Kodamanithaya Temple and other temples to another place in Bhatrakere with the help of some villagers.

Notice inviting devotees for the programme was distributed among villagers and the same was sent to media offices.
