Mangalore: Two Officials in Lokayukta Net for Accepting Bribe

Mangalore, May 20: Lokayukta officials cast their net over two officials of the electrical department for accepting bribe from a contractor on Monday May 19.

Deputy electrical inspector Srinivas and second division assistant Sridhar were caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 400 each for sending the application for license of one Jerome Barbosa of Shirva to the state electrical inspectorate, Bangalore.

The two officials had demanded bribe for processing the license and later again for completing the task. Barbosa had been unwilling to pay the bribe demanded by them and alerted the Lokayukta.

The Lokyukta officials arrested the two on the spot. They will be produced in the court for further enquiry.

    Lokayukta in Karnataka is really doing good job Under leadership of Justice Hegde. People should support them to curtail the corruption in PSUs.
