Bangalore: High Court CJ Cyriac Joseph is SC Judge Now

Bangalore, May 13: Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court Cyriac Joseph has been elevated as a judge of the Supreme Court. Justice P D Dinakaran of Madras High Court is tipped to succeed him as CJ of Karnataka High Court.

The Supreme Court collegium formally approved the same and has sent a recommendation to the law ministry. A formal notification is awaited.

Born in 1947, Justice Joseph, who is from Kerala, will have 44 months of service as SC judge. Elevated as judge of Kerala HC in 1994, he was transferred to Delhi HC in a month, and was there till 2001.
