Mangalore: Noted Scholar Anantram Rao Passes Away

Mangalore, May 6: Well known scholar Anantram Rao (74) died following a heart attack on Tuesday, May 6 evening.

He collapsed on the dais while he was delivering a speech at temple renovation ceremony in Vorkady near Talapadi. He was immediately  rushed to the hospital  but his life could not be saved.

Anantram Rao was known for his literary talents and organizing capacity. He was running a publishing house known as  'Vidya Publishing House.'  He has also written spiritual books on  Ramayana, Mahabharata and the  Bhagavata.

After he retired from Life Insurance  Corporation of India, he settled with his family at Kadri  He was also known for his religious preaching. He is survived  by his wife Vinoda, a son and three daughters.
