Bangalore, May 3: Of the six Manipur terrorists of People's United Liberation Front (PULF) who were arrested in city on Sunday, two are Post-graduates and experts in a couple of subjects.

A senior member of the group Mohamud Oslamuddin Khan (43) is a Post-graduate in Economics. He is the Organising Secretary of the outfit and fund-raiser for the organistion.

According to Imphal's Police Superintendent Radhey Shyam, PULF was established in 1993 and there are only about 40 terrorists in this organisation. These terrorists possess modern weapons like AK-47 and M-16 and follow instructions of their leader.

There are also women in this organisation who involve themselves in activities like distribution of pamphlets and fund raising, Radhey Shyam added.

Apart from PULF there are many other terrorist outfits, like UANLF, PLA, KYKL, PRIPAK in Manipur. These outfits operate from the Myanmar forests.

PULF promotes Islamic Fundamentalism. Their strict adherence to dress codes are well- known. These organisations occasionally resort to kidnapping and extortion.

"Recently, their outfit kidnapped three PWD Engineers and demanded a ransom of Rs. 3 crore from the State Government", explained Radhe Shyam.

PULF meetings are held in various cities in India and also abroad. The activities and prog-rammes of the outfit are discussed at these meetings. The organisation has never struck terror at places where they hold meeti-ngs. Manipur is the main target of their terrorist activities. Some of the activists were arrested when they were holding a meeting in Bangkok. A few were arrested in Kolkata also.
