Udupi: Ore-laden Truck Claims Life of Kerala Pilgrim

Udupi, April 29: A woman was killed in a ghastly accident involving two trucks and a passenger car that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday April 29 at Muloor, near here Padubidri on Tuesday April 29.

The car carrying the ill-fated woman was on its way to Trichur in Kerala from Kollur.  The said woman along with her family had been to Kollur temple on a pilgrimage and was returning home when the accident occurred.

A recklessly driven ore-laden truck rammed into the car just in front of the Bobbaryakatte temple located besides the National Highway (NH) 17. Three of her family members were also critically injured in the mishap which occurred around 6.00 a m on Tuesday.

The policemen accompanied by Padubidri sub-inspector Navinchandra Jogi, arrived at the spot and managed to shift the injured victims to the nearby hospital.  So far the identity of either the deceased or the injured is not established.
