Bangalore: Valuation over - SSLC Results Next Week?

SM

Bangalore, Apr 29: Valuation of answer scripts of this year's SSLC examination having been completed, there are possibilities of the announcement of results in the first week of May, according to sources in Secondary Education Examination Board.

The evaluation work had begun in 146 centres from Apr. 11. The extent of co-operation from the teachers was not satisfactory on the opening day. Between 25 and 30 per cent of the teachers deployed on evaluation work had absented themselves. In that backdrop, the announcement of results had been expected to be delayed.

The Board is busy in allaying the fears of delay and is learnt to be taking all steps to announce the results soon.

A daily allowance of Rs. 150 and travel allowance is payable to every teacher coming from out-station districts for evaluation work. Local valuers are paid Rs. 75 per teacher, which was the reason for the absence of most of the teachers. After the Board took serious note of their absence and had issued a warning to them of disciplinary steps, the situation had impr-oved. In the SSLC exam which began two days after the PU exam had concluded (Mar. 30), 8,44,843 candidates had appeared in 2,645 centres across the State.

In accordance with the order of the Pre-University Education Board, distribution of application forms for admission to first year PU has begun, in the backdrop of the expected announcement of results of SSLC examination.
