M'lore: Residents Fear Oil Deposits in Farm Land, Blame MRPL

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (KM)

Mangalore, Apr 28: The environmental issues in the region took a new turn on Sunday April 27 as a section of the public expressed doubts that there may be oil deposits owing to leakage of effluents in the region.

Certain pro-farmers' organizations have blamed MRPL as a cause for the 'undesirable' development. Meanwhile MRPL has clearly denied such possibilities.

The public urged the authority concerned to undertake study in this regard and they have urged district administration to take prompt measures to ensure no farm land will be affected by the oil deposits in the vicinity.

Assistant district commissioner Sameer Shukla paid a visit to the place.
