Beltangady: Woman Dies Following Dowry Harassment

Beltangady, Apr 28: A case of death due to dowry harassment was reported here on Sunday April 27.

According to the police the deceased has been identified as Kusumavathi (25), daughter of Chandrashekar Gowda. In the complaint lodged by Gowda, he said that his daughter was being allegedly harassed by her in-laws for dowry. Manohar and his mother Laxmi were allegedly harassing her to get Rs 20,000 cash promised by her father as dowry at the time of marriage.

Kusumavathi was found dead in a well at her in-laws' place on April 11.

A case have been registered in Beltangady police station.
