Mangalore: Vedas Symbolize Hindu Culture - Ananth Ram Rao

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore

Mangalore, Apr 28: A book entitled 'Veda Bhashya' (13th Vol) was released by eminent writer K Ananth Ram Rao at Arya Bhavan here on Sunday April 27.

Speaking to a gathering he rued the fact that although earlier there were more than thousand volumes of vedas, it has now dwindled down to just ten being made available. This is despite the fact that 'Vedas are the symbol of Hindu culture,' he declared.

With regard to difficulties in understanding vedas he said that epics were originally created to spread the message of  vedas in a simple form. However, he was quite enthused that since their publication is in Kannada, it would now be able to reach out to majority of the readers.

With regard to the book 'Veda Bhashya' it consists of 20,379 hymns of all four vedas namely Atharvaveda, Samaveda, Rigveda and Yajurveda. It consists of connotative and denotative meaning of each word. The entire book comprises 20 volumes of which 13 volumes have already been released.

The function was presided over by Dr Putta Shankarappa, president of Veda Bhashya Samithi.
