Mangalore: Edi Netto Handed Over Daiji Dubai Award

Mangalore, Apr 27: Well known Konkani writer Edi Netto was handed over the ‘Daiji Dubai’ award during  the ‘Mhataro Chorbela’ drama show held at St Agnes Special School grounds, organized by Cascia parishioners on Sunday, April 27. Fr Vincent Victor Menezes, parish priest of Cascia church, Leinus Moras, treasurer of Daiji Dubai Association, well known Konkani poet Melwyn Rodrigues, Victor Mathias, local convener of the drama, Vincent Mendonca and Gulabia Tauro were present on this occasion.












It may be recalled that  Eddie Netto could not be present in person in Dubai earlier in the month to receive the award. Speaking on this occasion, Edi Netto said that all Konkani journals had given him immense support to exhibit his literary talent. Journals should continue to give the same support to young Konkani writers, he requested.













Earlier, Francis Fernandes Cascia, writer of ‘Mhataro Chorbela,’ was felicitated on behalf of Cascia  parishioners.  Francis Fernandes Cascia thanked all his fans for the support given to him for decades.

‘Mhataro Chorbela’, Konkani comedy drama was staged , which  continues to entertain  the Mangalore crowd.
