Mangalore: Tibetans to Go on Hunger Strike Demanding Freedom

Mangalore, Apr 25: A hunger strike will be staged by Tibetans settled in the city and 150 high rank monks from Kushalnagar Sera monastery here on Friday April 25 against the inhuman treatment of Tibetans by the Chinese.

Addressing media persons Buddhist Bikshu Lobsang Norbu Shastry from Banarasa said that they will hold a candle light puja during the protest to pray for free Tibet. He also said that Tibetans are the believers of Buddha, Mahatma Gandhi and the Dalai Lama and will continue their fight for freedom.

Expressing that the Tibetans residing in India want to return to their homeland, he called for more support from Indians in helping them in their mission.

Jampa Lungto, Lobsang Baljore, Tsewang and others were present at the press conference.
