Udupi, Apr 21: A middle-aged man committed suicide by touching the power transmission line at Inna village near here on Sunday April 20.
The deceased has been identified as Rama S Moily (51), son of Sheena Moily.
It is said that his depression over prolonged asthma is the cause of death which had him preoccupied with the idea of ending his life for a long time.
However, he never hinted at suicide. He climbed the lamp post as soon as his wife went out of the house. He committed suicide at 1.30 pm and police of Padubidri station recovered the body at 3.30 pm the same day and subsequently sent it for autopsy before handing over the body to relatives.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.
