Udupi, Apr 21: The inauguration ceremony and stage function of 21 residential complexes of Parivar Community Development Charitable Trust (PCDCT), located at Udyavar Mathadakudru was cancelled in a bid to avoid violation of any election code. In view of this cancellation, only the house warming and 'Satyanarayana' puja was held here on Sunday, April 20, as per the guidelines of the election commission.

Recently, JD (S) district president Deviprasad Shetty had complained to the election commission that former MLA Raghupati Bhat was violating the election code by inaugurating these residential complexes. Hence the inauguration ceremony and stage programme was cancelled here.

Former chief minister Yeddyurappa, film stars Srinath and Ravichandran, Sri Vibhudesha Teertha Swamiji of Adamar Math, Udyavar parish priest Fr Richard Coelho, Abdul Jaleel, owner of Haleema Sabju auditorium, Udupi Builders’ Association president Jerry Vincent Dias, entrepreneur Prakash Shetty, City Municipal Council president Dinaker Shetty, former MLAs Raghupati Bhat and Lalaji Mendon and zilla panchayat member Nayana Ganesh were present on this occasion.
