M'lore: Roshni Students Organize Camp for Migrant Workers' Kids

Mangalore, Apr 18: In an effort to bring children of migrant workers in to mainstream education system, the MSW students of Prerana group, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya organized 'Chinnara Angala' a 60-day activity camp in Bangra Kottara here on Wednesday April 18.

The camp is being conducted in association with the education department under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyana programme.

The camp was inaugurated by Vineetha Rai, professor of Roshni Nilaya while diet principal of the district Philomena Lobo presided. The chief guest was Bhaskar, owner of the place where the camp is bring held.

Kondandarama, BEO of Mangalore Urban, Sumangala, coordinator of block resource centre and Ashok D'Souza, faculty supervisor of the college were the other guests.

Chinnara Angala is an attempt to integrate children into normal school routine. The activity camp is being conducted at 88 clusters in the city.
