Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (MM/AF)

Mangalore, Apr 15: The residents of Mangalore rural police station strongly opposed the transfer of sub-inspector Prakash on Tuesday April 15.

Speaking to media persons, Gregory D’Souza, a resident of Kulshekar said that sub-inspector Prakash is one of the most sincere and efficient police officers of the district. But he has been transferred from Kankanady rural police station in a short period, as per the election commission guidelines. He should be posted back to Kankanady station immediately, he urged.

The sub-inspector never cared for dictates of any politicians, the protesters said and added that he efficiently managed many critical situations in communally-sensitive areas. He never discriminated between the poor and the rich and never took bribe from anyone. It is difficult to get such a great officer again for Kankanady rural police station. Therefore, he should be brought back to the same station failing which, a huge protest will be staged in the coming days, D'Souza informed.

Brigadier C D’Souza, Sandeep Shetty, Henry D’Souza and Alban Menezes were present at the press meet.
