Udupi, Apr 14: It is unfortunate that no detailed study of Badaguthittu (northern style of Yakshagana) has been conducted so far, lamented Dr Shreedar Uppur.

He was addressing the gathering after being felicitated by Ramdas, lecturer at PPC College, for his thesis titled 'Badaguthittu Yakshagana mattu Parampare Prayoga.'

Bagavatike (narration part of Yakshagana) is being replaced by natane (acting the episodes in Yakshagana) which is not a good sign, he added.

The felicitation ceremony was chaired by Ramdas.
