Rome: Konkani Kutam Celebrates Easter

Rome, Apr 14: April 13th was a big day for the Italians because of the  General Elections to the Parliament.  But for the Konkani speaking people it was the much awaited day of Easter Get Together.

The Festal mass was celebrated at the Jesuit Generalate chapel, next to St.Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican city. Fr. Anthony Pinto celebrated the mass along with 15 concelebrants. Fr.Dolphy Pais, Capuchin gave a fitting message in his short homily.  Fr.Reginald Furtado led the choir with popular Easter hymns.

Later, the feast continued in the Generalate Auditorium.  Fr.Eugene Lobo welcomed everyone on behalf of the Executive committee.  Fr.Anthony Pinto, compered the programme and made everyone enjoy the party with his characteristic humour and various games.  The April birth day babies were wished.   The members who would be leaving Rome later this year after their studies were felicitated.






The president of the ‘Kutam’ Fr.Elias Frank thanked everyone for the cooperation and presence.  Sr.Thelma, Br.Tony Crasta, Mr.Hillary Crasta were instrumental in making the celebration an enjoyable one.

As the culmination of the feast, a sumptuous Mangalorean meal was shared with joy.  More than 70  people participated in the Get Together.
