Udupi: Annual Training Camp of 'Home Guards' Concludes

Udupi, Apr 13:"Home guards must take all the measures to protect the interests of the citizens as well as safeguard the lives of people," advised K K Pai, registrar of Academy of General Education, (AGE) Manipal.
 
Pai was speaking on the occasion of the concluding ceremony of a training camp of the Udupi district home guards, held at the TA Pai English medium school grounds, at Kunjibettu near here on Saturday April 12. This training camp is a month long annual event.

"Home guards must realize the importance of the nation's security. Earning money must not be their sole objective but they should inculcate the values of patriotism," he added.
 
The valedictory ceremony was presided over by Hemalatha, the deputy commissioner of Udupi district. The superintendent of police, Devajyoti Ray and Panduranga G, head master of T A Pai English Medium School were the chief guests on the occasion. 
 
Ganapati Bhat and Sudhakar Salian, home guard commandments were also present on the occasion.
