Mangalore, Apr 12: Literary sessions are usually organized in closed school halls or auditoriums or such places. Unlike this a Pavanje-based folklore centre is planning to conduct a literary session on waters of Nandini River between Pavenje-Halekadave and sea shore in Sasihitlu

Addressing newsmen here on Friday April 11, Centre president Dr Ganesh Amin Sankamar said various litterateurs and scholars will participate in the literary sessions.

There will be no dais or guests or audience. Some who will be present at the place will speak on different subjects.

Dr Sankamar said as much as 10 boats and two rafts will be used. Prof BA Vivek Rai, vice-chancellor of Karnataka State Open University will inaugurate the programme. Alva’s Education Foundation chairman Dr M Mohan Alva will preside over the function. Pavanje temple managing trustee Krishna Bhat and former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat Harikrishna Punaroor will grace the occasion.

A book titled ‘Holeyinda Samudrakke”will be released by Yugapurusha editor Bhuvanabhirama Udupa and various achievers will be honoured. The sailing session will be presided over by noted theatre personality Dr Na Damodar Shetty.

The valedictory session will be held at Sasihitlu beach at 4.30 pm.
