WADA drops probes into doping abuse charges against Russian fencers


Moscow, June 10 (IANS): The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has dropped all of its investigations in regard to Russian fencers, who had been mentioned in the infamous report of the agencys independent commission, the Russian Fencing Federation announced.

"The justice has finally prevailed," Russian Fencing Federation president Alexander Mikhailov said in an interview with Tass news agency on Friday. 

"The WADA made a decision to stop investigations in regard to our fencers and we are content with such outcome.

The report alleged that 27 Russian fencers were involved in doping abuse schemes.
