Mangalore: 'Apad Jeju Maka' CD of Konkani Hymns Released

Mangalore, Apr 11: Following the success of 'Agape' and 'Khursar Thavn' audio casettes and CD’s of Konkani hymns, Richard and Jane Machado of Derebail Parish here released their third Konkani hymns CD 'Apad Jeju Maka' (Touch Me Jesus) recently.

Fr Godfrey Saldanha, parish priest of Holy Redeemers Church, Derebail, released the CD and gave a call to all the parishioners present to support the mission of Richard and Jane.

The audio CD contains 10 devotional hymns, composed on the themes of Bible like 'Praise and Worship,' 'Adoration,' 'Forgiveness,' 'Repentance,' 'Inner healing' and a bhajan to the Holy Trinity. Tunes and lyrics have been composed by Richard Machado and his wife Jane has produced the volume.

Gururaj has directed the music, played live by popular musicians from Kerala. The CD was recorded at city's CAD Media. Gururaj is the Aryabhata awardee for the year 2008 for his contribution to the field of music.

The CD starts with a prayer by Fr Henry D’Souza of Pilar Fathers from Goa, followed by 10 hymns sung by Ronald, Denzil, Cyril, Jasmin, Maria, Jilson and Baby Lisha. Jane, Lavina and Richard have also rendered their voices for group singing.  The CD 'Apad Jeju Maka' is available in most of the Church offices and Christian religious shops in the city and Udupi at a cost of Rs 100.
