Mangalore: Gulf Cup in City - Bonanza for Racing Enthusiasts

Mangalore, Apr 10: Race track enthusiasts are in for a bonanza with Gulf Cup Dirt Track Race all set to enter city on Sunday April 27.

The event, organized by Sportscraft and Mangalore motor sports association, will take place at Karavali Utsav Grounds. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday April 9, Sportscract Mumbai chairman Shrikant Kerani informed that the event is a part of an all-India contest, which will be held at Jaipur, New Delhi, Bhopal and Nasik.

Elaborating the rules of the race, Kerani said that a minimum of six and maximum of 15 riders will be selected from each of the four qualifying rounds to compete in the final. To qualify for the final, the riders must finish at least three of the four rounds. The points of the first four rounds will be considered for the finals, he added.

The cash prize of Rs 85,000 will be awarded ti the winners of each round, and the winner of the finals will take home Rs 4 lac.
