Udupi: Rich Muslims Advised to Help Poor Brethren

Udupi, Apr 7: 'Helping mankind will definitely please Almighty. Problems of poor Muslims will never be resolved unless rich Muslims voluntarily come forward to help them, said Mohammad Kunhi, proprietor of Mangalore Shanti Publication.'

He was delivering the inaugural address at the silver jubilee celebrations of Udupi Muslim Welfare Association held at Town Hall at Ajjarakaadu near here on Sunday, April 6.

A souvenir edited by U Usman Ali, was released by Y Mohammad Kunhi, president of DK district Waqf Advisory Board. Misbah S Ahmed, national-level tennis player was felicitated on the occasion. 

K S Masood, president of Muslim Central Committee, DK and Udupi districts distributed certificates to students of fashion designing and tailoring classes run by the association. Shaheeda, a teacher was also felicitated on the occasion.

Haji Kumruddin M, president of the association presided over the function. Munir Mohammed proposed the vote of thanks and Usman Ali, K Abdul Gaffur compered the programme.
