Beltangady: Man Hacked to Death near Savanal

Beltangady; Apr 5: A daily-wage worker was found brutally murdered at Hannadipalke in Savanalu village near here on Thursday, April 3 night.

The deceased person has been identified as Narayan Malekudia (50), a resident of Savanalu. He was hacked to death with the help sickles and knives just 2 KMs away from his house. The murder came to light only on Friday April 4 morning when some passers-by saw his body soaked in blood near a bushel.

He had been to the town on Thursday night to sell cashew nuts and sources said that he might have been murdered on his way back home.

The reason for the murder is not yet known. Beltangady police have taken some persons into custody and initiated probe to trace the murderers. Sources informed that, Narayan Malekudia was known for his helping nature in the vicinity.
