Bangalore: Barred from Exam,Student Ends Life

Bangalore, Apr 4: A girl committed suicide at her residence in Murugeshpalya, in Airport police limits.
 
She has been identified as Shantala (15), a student of Government School, Jeevan Bima Nagar. She is the daughter of B S Ravi, a security guard in an IT firm.

According to her parents, she took this step as she was not allowed to write her exam as she hadn’t carried her admission ticket. Her mother Umadevi said, “We found the admission ticket inside her maths textbook.” Following the incident, residents on Thursday staged a dharna in front of the school seeking explanation from the authorities. Education department officials and police pacified the agitators.
