M'lore: Subbaiah Takes Charge as Commissioner of MCC

MANGALORE, Apr 3: P.K. Subbaiah took charge as the Commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation on Wednesday.

K. Krishnappa Poojary who was the Commissioner of the corporation retired on March 31.

Subbaiah was Chief Administrative Officer, Department of Collegiate Education, Bangalore.

He was Block Development Officer of Mangalore from 1981 to 1984 and tahsildar of Mangalore from 1990 to 1992. Mr. Subbaiah served as Land Acquisition Officer, Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board, Baikampady, from 1992 to 1994. He was Assistant Commissioner of Kundapur from 1994 to 1996.

He started service as a probationary tahsildar at Bellary in 1979.

Subbaiah said that his immediate priority was health and sanitation, drinking water supply.
