Kundapur, Apr 1: A bakery owner escaped unhurt after miscreants set his bakery on fire in the small hours of Tuesday April 1.

The bakery located near Koteshwar by-pass has been reduced to ashes and the loss has been estimated at Rs 3 lac. It is believed that the accused knew that bakery owner Dinesh Bhat stayed in the shop premises and their motive was to kill him.  However, as fire engulfed the shop, Bhat jumped out of the shop and alerted the neighbours.
