Mangalore, Mar 29:
A peaceful rally will be undertaken by the Central Muslim Committee (CMC) from Central Jumma mosque to the office of the deputy commissioner (DC) protesting against the alleged derogatory remarks made by C T Ravi and Sunil Kumar against madrasas. Al Haj K M S Masood, president of the committee furnished this information to news persons here on Friday March 28.

The rally will be held on Monday March 31, where there will neither be slogans nor criticism against Sangh Parivar during the course of the procession. The objective of the rally is to propagate that madrasas are not breeding grounds for terrorism, instead, they are places where students learn to address Almighty. The rally would also seek to dispel any misinterpretation made about Islam, he added.

Answering specific questions raised by journalists, the president informed that Islam teaches its followers to renounce violence and all sorts of heinous crimes committed against mankind. In the course of the meet he also made a plea to punish the guilty as per the law of the land, and not harm and be unjust to those who have not indulged in any sort of violence. Around 10,000 people are expected to take part in the procession. Students learning in madrasas will also be taking part in the procession, he added further.
