Mangalore: NMPT to Host All India Major Ports TT Tourney

Mangalore, Mar 27: The 31st All India Major Ports Table Tennis Tournament 2008 will be organised by New Mangalore Port sports council in association with major ports sports council board here on Thursday March 27 to 29.

According to a press release the tournament will be held at the newly-laid wooden court at Gymkhana in NMPT colony at Panambur. This wooden court was inaugurated by major ports sports control board and NMPT chairman P Tamilvanan on March 20. The release stated that at the tournament teams from major ports of Kandla, Mumbai, Goa, Chennai, Vishakapatnam, Paradip, Kolkata and NMPT teams will be participating in this tournament.

Matches will be held in various categories like men’s single, doubles, teams championship and men’s veteran singles.

Tamilvanan will grace the occasion and Karnataka Coast Guard commandant M V Baadkar will inaugurate the function.
