Mangalore, Mar 26: Terming the AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi's on-going 'Discover India' programme as an election gimmick, BJP state president D V Sadananda Gowda launched a frontal attack on the Congress party's state tour here on Tuesday March 25.

According to Sadananda Gowda there would not be any significant impact on the state's political scenario as a result of Rahul Gandhi's visit to the state. 'We have witnessed Rahul's 'Discovery of India'. His road show will not be useful for their party's development,' he opined firmly.

Discussing their party's selection policy, Gowda said that BJP would select party candidates in the state based on a transparent policy. He further informed that other than DK, Udupi and Kodagu, their party has 30 to 40 aspirants for the party seats.

Elaborating on the issue he said the BJP state committee would decide the candidates for these districts. In other districts, each district committee would decide its candidates, he further informed.
