Mangalore: 'Rahul Gandhi's Visit to City Not Mere Campaign'

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (KM)

Mangalore, Mar 24: Rahul Gandhi's much-awaited visit to the city on Wednesday March 26 is not a mere political campaign to strengthen the party's base but to create democratic organization in the nation, said Akhil Chadda, general secretary of All India Youth Congress Committee at a press conference here on Monday March 24.

Detailing the schedule, Akhil Chadda said that Rahul Gandhi will meet fishermen, students and the general public at various venues. The venues cannot be disclosed owing to security reasons, he added.

The visit is chiefly to interact with the people rather than just a campaign and public rally. There will be an open membership drive and around 20 counters have been opened in the city to serve the purpose, Chadda added.

Party leader Bondala Jagannath Shetty said security measures and weather conditions will be the decisive factors that may lead to disturb the appointments.

Other leaders of the political party were present at the press conferences.
