M'lore: Heavy Rains Cause Tree, Electric Pole to Fall - Damages House

Mangalore, Mar 22:
Heavy unseasonal downpours accompanied by thunder and lightning lashed the coastal city on Friday March 21, causing a great deal of inconvenience to the city dwellers here.
 
The impact of the thunder and lightening alongwith the rains was so powerful that it resulted in several trees being uprooted and damages caused to some houses.  
 


A tree and an electrical pole broke on impact of the heavy  rains and fell on a house in Derlakatte, causing extensive damages to its exteriors. However, fortunately no one was injured in this incident. 
 
According to the meteorological department sources, the city recorded 33.3 MM rainfall. Kukke Subramanya temple township recorded 12.4 mm. Udupi district, Kundapur received 22.2 mm, while Kota received a maximum of 56.5 mm of rains, the sources informed.
