Mangalore: Varsity Proposes Research Centre on Tulu Folklore

Mangalore, Mar 20: Mangalore University has proposed to establish a research centre to conduct study and documentation of Tulu folklore.

The academic council has given its approval for the draft copy of the proposed planning. Many organizations and public platforms had appealed to the varsity to establish a research centre to explore possibilities to preserve Tulu folklore. The varsity will also submit the proposal to the central government to get financial aid for this purpose.

Affiliations to 15 new educational institutions were also approved by the council, pending approval from the state governemnt.

The academic council also approved the proposal to start MSc courses in renewable power resources and technology, revised syllabus for computer application as optional subject for BCom course, MPhil Biotechnology syllabus, MSc in hospitality management and yogic science post graduation through distance education and diploma degree.
